Arcadia Dunes single track – MTB

The Grand Traverse Regional Land Conservancy partnered with the International Mountain Biking Association a few years ago and created 15 miles of biking and hiking trails north of Arcadia. The first half of the trail, from the parking area on St. Pierre, and riding clockwise, is pretty tight and technical compared to the trails at Big M. The second half opens up a bit more. The loop is just under 10 miles. You can ride across M-22 as well, the trails aren’t quite as well marked. Your best bet is to ride from the scenic overlook at the top of the hill just north of Arcadia.

Directions from Ludington
North on US 31 through Manistee
West on M-22 through Onekama and Arcadia
Park at scenic overlook north of Arcadia or continue 1 mile or so and turn right(east) on St. Pierre, parking is 100 yards in.

Directions from Traverse City:
To the St.Pierre trailhead (for the Dry Hill 10 mile trail):
South on US 31, through Benzonia
West (right) on Joyfield Rd. (approx. 5.5 miles south of Benzonia)
Take Joyfield until it dead ends into M-22 (approx 5 miles)
South (left) on M-22 approx. ¼ mile to St.Pierre Rd.
South (left) on St. Pierre – parking lot approx 100 yards on East (left) side of road

To the Old Baldy trailhead (for Baldy and Lake Michigan):
Proceed to M-22 as above
South (left) on M-22 approx. 3/4 mile to Old Baldy parking lot on West (right) side of M-22
